Duplicate User Report
The Duplicate Users Report is a helpful tool for identifying duplicate accounts that have been created in the system. By using the results from this report, you can easily determine which accounts need to be merged. You can locate this report in your Scheduling Control Center:
- Navigate to Scheduling > Scheduling Control Center and click on the Reports tab
- Find the report titled Duplicate Users Report and click “View Report”
Next, you will select an option from the Report Type dropdown. You will have the option to search for duplicate users by SIS ID, Name, Email, or Username:
For example, selecting the "Duplicate Names" report type will show results for all users who have identical names:
Merging Users
Once you have identified the duplicate users that need to be merged, you can navigate to the Admin Panel > Users tab to proceed with merging their user accounts:
- In the Search section, select the field that you want to use for your search (the same field you selected in the Duplicate User Report). Enter the corresponding value in the text box and click the "Search" button to view your results.
- Check the box under the "Action" column for both accounts you want to merge.
- Click on the "Merge Users" button.
After you click on the "Merge Users" button, you will be taken to the "Merge User Accounts" page. In step 1, select the radio button next to the account that you want to keep in the system after the merge is done:
Step 2 is not required, but it gives you the option to choose any additional information that you would like to keep in the merged account. To do this, simply click on the field in the table that you would like to keep:
After you have made your selections, click on the "Preview Merge" button. This will open a pop-up window that will show you a preview of the merged account. If the information in the preview is accurate and you want to go ahead with merging the accounts, click on the "Merge" button.
After the accounts have been successfully merged, you will be able to find only the one account you chose to keep if you search for them in the Users tab again.
